For more than 50 years, National History Day (NHD) has transformed how history is taught and learned around the world. I’ve partnered with NHD for over a decade, supporting a wide range of their initiatives and helping bring their mission to life through storytelling and media production.
At the heart of NHD is the National Contest, where nearly 3,000 students from around the globe gather in College Park, Maryland to compete. Each year, NHD selects a new theme, and I work with the organization to create a dynamic theme video that showcases relevant programs, resources, and research pathways for students.
During the contest, I capture interviews with students, produce footage for local and national media outlets, and create a high-energy sizzle reel for the Awards Ceremony. The event also reunites NHD alumni from across generations, and I interview them to spotlight the long-term impact of the program—many have gone on to become Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists, influential policymakers, acclaimed authors, and leaders in education, law, and public service.
