About: Sponsored by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) and the VA National Cemetery Administration (NCA), Understanding Sacrifice is an 18-month professional development program for middle- and high- school teachers. Teachers create free, interdisciplinary lessons to share with other educators. The goal is to bring ABMC and NCA resources into classrooms to help students better understand the service, experience, and sacrifice of American service members during World War II.
My Role: I produced all public media for the program while traveling across Europe and the Pacific. Each teacher delivered a eulogy at their service members grave, which I filmed and produced for the website. In addition, I photographed teachers in the cemeteries, museums, and historic sites they visited along the way. Those images were used for social media, as well as promotional printed materials.
